Hi! I am Ananya Chopra, a junior at Robbinsville High School. I am an aspiring quant who wants to make financial education and quantitative market analysis more accessible to aspiring traders and investors.
I started this blog in 2020 in the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic to document my financial education through blog posts. Schools were shut down and all traveling had stopped. With so much more free time, I started reading the news to try and understand what was happening in the world. That was when I discovered the stock market. Every day there were headlines of stocks crashing and rising and amidst it all, traders were making or losing millions of dollars. Fascinated, I started to carefully watch the markets and started thinking about the skills required to be able to predict stock prices. Or is it even possible to accurately predict the stock price trajectory?
I started learning fundamental analysis, technical analysis, and even completed my CMT Level 1 certification. I also completed level 3 python certification in data structures and algorithms with JuniLearning (started by ex-Googlers) and self-taught python visualization and analytical libraries such as NumPy, Pandas, Plotly, and Dash through udemy.
Combining CMT knowledge with python skills, I re-invented Quantann from being my “journal” to a professional website that provides curated financial news. I also added an interactive dashboard with over 20 technical indicators available to registered users! This interactive dashboard is the first in a series of analytical tools that I want to develop and make freely available at Quantann.
I want to learn advanced analytics to build predictive models. My goal is to develop more tools that analyze technicals, fundamentals, news, and sentiment for trading and investment insights and make them available at Quantann to help traders and investors build smarter portfolios.
